CAD & product development
CAD design built for manufacturing
We model parts and products in CAD with manufacturing in mind — wall thicknesses, orientation, supports, tolerances and assembly — and keep every version and approval on record.
Who it's for
- Teams without in-house CAD capacity
- Customers with a part that needs redesigning for printing
- Inventors needing a production-ready model
How it works
- 01
Requirements
We confirm what the part must do, fit and withstand, and write it down.
- 02
Proposal
Scope, price, milestones and revision allowance, approved by you before work starts.
- 03
CAD development
Versioned models shared for review, with comments tracked per revision.
- 04
Prototype and approval
A printed prototype validates the design before production.
What to send us
- Requirements and constraints
- Existing drawings, models or photos
- Interfacing parts and dimensions
- Preferred file formats for delivery
Honest limits
- We design for FDM printing; designs for injection moulding or machining need different rules and may be scoped separately
- We don't provide stamped engineering calculations or certification
- Change requests beyond the agreed revisions are priced as change orders
Materials
Material choice is part of the design: we'll recommend a material based on loads, heat and environment — the Filament Buyer's Guide explains the trade-offs. Compare materials.
Questions
What files do I receive?
Typically STL for printing plus a neutral CAD format such as STEP. Native files and licensing are agreed in the proposal.
How are revisions handled?
Your proposal includes a set number of revision rounds. Additional changes are quoted before work is done.
