Materials Expert (AI) Terms

The Materials Expert is an AI assistant on formyq.com that answers questions about 3D printing materials and designing parts for printing. By using it you agree to these terms, which add to our Terms of Service.

Advisory only

• Answers are generated automatically by an AI model using our Filament Guide and the materials we currently offer. They're general guidance, not engineering, safety, legal or professional advice.
• Answers can be wrong or incomplete. Check important details yourself and test critical parts before relying on them.
• An answer is never a quote or an order. It doesn't promise prices, lead times, tolerances, manufacturability, or food, medical or other safety suitability. Everything is confirmed by a person in your quote.

Don't share personal or confidential information

Please don't type names, contact details, addresses or confidential design details into the assistant. Use the quote or design brief forms for project details instead.

How your questions are processed

• Your question is sent to OpenAI, our AI provider, together with our materials information, to generate the answer.
• We keep an anonymised copy of questions to improve our guides and services. Before storing a question we remove email addresses, phone numbers, links and street addresses, and we don't store your IP address or account with it. See our Privacy Policy.
• A temporary cookie (fq_asst) applies fair-use limits; see our Cookie Notice.

Fair use and availability

The assistant has per-visitor and daily limits and may be switched off at any time. Use it for questions about 3D printing, materials, design for printing and FORMYQ's services; don't try to make it ignore its instructions or produce unrelated or harmful content (see our Acceptable Use Policy).
