FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Files & uploads

What file formats can I upload?

STL (binary and ASCII) is supported today, with an in-browser viewer and automatic checks. If you have 3MF, OBJ, STEP or other CAD files, submit a quote request and attach a note — we review those manually while additional importers are being built.

Is my file private?

Yes. Files are stored in private storage, only you and FORMYQ staff responsible for your project can access them, and download links expire within seconds. We never publish your work in our portfolio without your written permission.

What units should my STL be in?

STL files do not store units. We assume millimetres and show the resulting dimensions so you can check them. If your part was modelled in inches, switch the unit setting before requesting a quote.

Materials

Which materials do you offer?

Everything we can print is listed in the Filament Buyer's Guide: everyday PLA and PETG, engineering materials like ASA, PC and nylon, flexible TPU, and carbon- or glass-fibre composites. Materials marked “on request” are sourced for your job, and each guide page explains what the material is good for and where it falls short.

Do you offer resin, CNC or metal printing?

Not at this time. FORMYQ is an FDM operation. If your part needs another process, we will tell you honestly rather than force a fit.

Quotes & pricing

How is my quote priced?

Every quote is reviewed by a person. Price depends on material, size, print time, quantity, finishing, and any design work. You receive an itemised quote you can accept, reject or ask us to revise.

Design services

Can you design a part if I don't have a 3D file?

Yes. Use the design brief to describe the idea, add photos, sketches and measurements, and we will scope a paid design proposal. Design and manufacturing are priced separately.

Shipping

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. FORMYQ is based in Michigan and ships worldwide, except to countries and regions under US sanctions or export restrictions. Prices are in US dollars; for orders outside the US, import duties, VAT/GST and customs fees are usually paid by the recipient on delivery. Your quote shows shipping before you pay. See International Shipping for details.

Is there anything you won't print?

Yes. We don't print weapons, firearm parts or accessories, weapon components, or anything illegal to make, own or export; we also decline items that infringe someone else's intellectual property. We may decline any job and will refund anything paid for it.

Business

Do you work with businesses on repeat production?

Yes. Our Business Manufacturing page covers recurring production, approved part lists, PO references and sample runs. Agreements are always reviewed and approved by both sides before anything is committed.
